Celebrate Juneteenth with a powerful and uplifting performance by acclaimed bassist, composer, and bandleader Endea Owens, in the beautiful open-air setting of the Louis Armstrong House Garden.

This special event honors freedom, heritage, and Black excellence through the language of music, led by one of today’s most dynamic voices in jazz.

About the Artist

Endea Owens is a Detroit-raised, award-winning bassist known for her vibrant presence on the global jazz scene. A graduate of The Juilliard School, she is a member of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert house band, Stay Human, and has performed with icons such as Wynton Marsalis, Jon Batiste, Diana Ross, and Jennifer Hudson.

With her band The Cookout, Endea fuses jazz, soul, and gospel to create music that nourishes the spirit and celebrates community. Her performances are not just concerts — they’re joyful gatherings rooted in purpose and heart.
