Voices through Generations

This community gathering will celebrate the voices, histories, and lasting impact of the Corona Collection through an afternoon of storytelling, reflection, and intergenerational dialogue. Hosted at the Louis Armstrong House Museum, the event will bring together students, artists, and community members to explore how personal histories continue to shape Queens and future generations.

Guests are invited to bring an item that represents their family’s story, connection to Queens,  New York, or their cultural heritage. This could include: A family photograph, newspapers, magazines, documents, letters, oral histories, a cultural object, or anything that represents one’s history. 

The event will include the premiere screenings of the oral histories of the neighbors who knew Louis and Lucille Armstrong; a reflective talk by Brianna Boyce- intern at the museum and granddaughter of one of the Corona Collection narrators Debra Grinage and conclude with a community dialogue on family and intergenerational archives
